The Student Visa (Subclass 500) is designed for individuals who wish to visit Australia to participate in a course of study. This visa allows students to enroll in eligible educational programs offered by Australian institutions.
The Student Visa (Subclass 500) offers several benefits, including:

◉ Work opportunities of up to 48 hours a fortnight during the course of study

◉ Applicants can include family members such as partners and dependent children in their visa application.
This is a temporary visa allowing a stay of up to 5 years, depending on the type and duration of the course enrolled in. Primary school children enrolled in years 1-4 are typically granted a visa for a maximum of 3 years.
To be eligible for the Student Visa (Subclass 500), applicants must meet certain requirements:

To continue studying in Australia, visa holders must apply for a new Student Visa (Subclass 500) before the current one expires. Various options are available for students whose visas are expiring before graduation.
Visa holders are required to promptly notify authorities of any changes to their contact details, relationship status, welfare arrangements, or the birth of a child. Changes in study situations must also be reported without delay.
Any alterations to study situations, such as switching courses, completing studies ahead of schedule, or deferring a course, must be communicated to the relevant authorities. Visa conditions may necessitate permission before implementing such changes.
Applicants seeking a student visa after 1 July 2022 will be subjected to visa condition 8208. This amendment is designed to safeguard Australia's critical technology assets.
In cases where an education provider defaults, applicants must furnish a new Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) from an alternative provider. This protocol applies if the original provider closes or fails to deliver the course due to sanctions.
